Temporary Traffic Restrictions

ADVANCE NOTICE OF CARRIAGEWAY RESURFACING SCHEME

B6403 ERMINE STREET / HIGH DIKE, ANCASTER / BARKSTON

Highway resurfacing works will shortly be starting at the above location. To comply with Health and Safety Regulations it will be necessary to close the road to restrict vehicular traffic for the duration of the works. The working area covers the length of carriageway from the A153 crossroads heading south to the junction with Heath Lane.

Works are programmed to commence on or around Tuesday 11th March with an expected duration of 4 weeks. Working hours are from 7.30am to 5pm although some night working will be included. The above dates may be subject to change if preceding works overrun or are delays are encountered due to poor weather etc.  

Traffic management operatives will be available to advise on progress and assist motorists.  If your property fronts the proposed working area, then please expect delays and allow additional time for any essential journeys. Access and egress may not be via your normal route and dependent upon the works location at any given time.

Due to the nature and the specialist equipment that are used to undertake these vital maintenance works please be aware that high noise levels may be experienced near your property. All our contractor’s equipment is compliant with current regulations and will be switched off if not being used to limit any noise pollution. There will also be flashing lights in use however this is a Health and Safety legal requirement on all vehicles working within one of our schemes.
